Looking for more from a vacation? On 26 November 2020, we're sending a small group of adventure enthusiasts on a 17-day guided tour of Costa Rica - not just the beach, but all of it. Introducing the G Adventures' Costa Rica Adventure, one of the experiential itineraries in their Jane Goodall Collection. We've also added a visit to Territorio de Zaguates - Land of the Strays (subject to permit approval).
Located on the Pacific coast, Quepos is a picturesque coastal town that is minutes from Manual Antonio National Park. Marvel at the abundance of wildlife, play on the beach, or enjoy the coastline by sailboat.
After playing on the beach, the group moves inland to witness the rain forest of northern Costa Rica. Ziplines and coffee plantations are popular excursions in this mountainous region.
La Fortuna is located at the foot of Mount Arenal, one of Costa Rica's six active volcanoes. Enjoy waterfall rappelling, soak in the local hot springs, hike the volcano, or try some whitewater rafting.
One included excursion is the visit to a G Adventures-supported coffee cooperative. You can also swim the Sarapiqui river, take a night walk in the rainforest, or try your hand at making empanadas.
TORTUGUERO (Land of the turtle)
Walk local nesting sites of the Green and Leatherback turtles, experience the Tortuguero rainforest by foot/kayak, or visit the local town.
PUERTO VIEJO DE TALAMANCA
Relax at the beach, or wander the Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge
ITINERARY BONUS - TERRITORIO DE ZAGUATES (Land of the Strays)
After two weeks of enjoying the flora, fauna, and adventure of Costa Rica, the "piece de resistance" is a visit to a local no-kill dog shelter, where you have the opportunity to walk over 1300 dogs. (Note: This visit is subject to the shelter's ability to meet government tourism regulations,)
Includes return airport transfers, accommodation (14 nights hotels, 2 nights in a jungle lodge), transfers to Territorio do Zaguates (or in the event their tourism permit isn't approved, Rescue Center Costa Rica), 5 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 4 diners and entry to Territorio de Zaguates or Rescue Center Costa Rica.
