  • We've graded our tour of Turkey as moderately paced. You can expect two long drives and one shorter drive, in our comfortable private bus with air - conditioning, rewarded by some of the country's most astonishing sites. These days of travel are balanced with free time and sightseeing from our comfortable hotels in Istanbul, Selcuk and Cappadocia.

  • On our driving days we will likely stop at highway service stations that are conveniently located on our route, have clean facilities and sell a great range of local drinks and snacks.

  • This trip involves a lot of walking, in Istanbul and sometimes on rocky or uneven terrain such as in the ancient sites or in Cappadocia. Please bring comfortable walking shoes but also note that it is possible to sit out of parts of the itinerary if you prefer.

  • Turkish dishes include a lot of meat or seafood, and vegan and vegetarian options are catered for but can be limited. We recommend reviewing the food and drink that is included in the itinerary before booking to make sure you're happy with the food on offer.

  • It can get incredibly hot in Turkey during the summer months - during these periods our itinerary might vary slightly to avoid the hottest parts of the day.

  • During this tour, we'll stay most nights at premium hotels, chosen for location, authenticity and comfort. In Konya we spend the night at a comfortable grade hotel.

  • Typical Turkish breakfasts will have a selection of cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, salad, eggs, fruit, jam, honey, pastries and bread with tea and coffee. Often there will also be a simple cereal provided to cater for foreign guests.

  • Vegetarians will generally be well catered for as many dishes are based on vegetables and dairy products.

  • Please note that availability of ingredients for restricted diets such as gluten - free or dairy-free is very limited in Turkey and we strongly recommend you bring specialised dietary items with you.
