Set in a hollow at the foot of the Pichincha Volcano, Quito is surrounded by hills and several snowcapped mountains. Nearby is Quito’s “New Town” and its heart La Mariscal, a bustling area with ethnic and international restaurants, coffee shops, handicraft market and a lively nightlife.
