Essential Tips on Packing Light and Thoughtful

How many times have you come home from a vacation and realized that you didn’t use half of the items that you took with you?

It can be difficult to pack lightly and sensibly, but it's necessary to lessen your influence on the environment and improve your trip experience.   Here are a few ideas:

1. Create a list of the necessary goods you must bring before you begin packing and don’t deviate from it. By doing this, you can make sure you have everything you need while avoiding bringing items that you aren’t going to use.

2. Pack your clothes into packing cubes to maximize the space in your bag or backpack. Packing cubes can help you organize your belongings and compress your clothing giving you more space.  Or, roll your clothing.

3. Take the climate into account: Research the local weather conditions before packing. By doing this, you can make sure that you don't bring anything needless and that your trip will be comfortable.

4. Wear adaptable clothing: Choose for pieces that can be readily mixed and matched. By doing this, you can pack fewer clothes while still having access to a range of looks.

5. If you are going for a long period of time have your travel consultant find out the availability of a laundry service or laundry facilities.

6. Bring eco-friendly items: Carry eco-friendly items like reusable bags, bamboo toothbrushes, and natural soap and sunscreen.   Try to avoid containers of heavy liquids by bringing shampoo and conditioner in bar form as opposed to liquid.

7. Choose reusable containers: Instead of buying single-use plastic containers toiletries, and other products, choose reusable containers that can be refilled.

8. Pack a reusable water container so you may fill it up while travelling rather than buying bottled water.   Your travel consultant can help you by researching potable water conditions or filling stations.

9. If you have items left over that you don’t want to bring back, recycle or donate the items instead of throwing them out.

Packing lighter can make it easier to get around and give you a much more pleasant travel experience!
